I just spent a great day on the Onion River with Gordy. He is an absolutely fantastic guy and knows this river like the back of his hand and pointed out places where he knew fish lived/stayed. Multiple times, he said something like "flip your fly up past that rock, if he's there, the fish will hit it as it floats bye" and sure enough, that's exactly what happened. His knowledge really saved me a lot of time and experimentation. Not to mention the Onion River is absolutely beautiful, and we had it all to ourselves.
